Startup Iceland is partnering with Stripe Atlas. The mission of Startup Iceland has always been about helping Founders and Entrepreneurs. I am excited to announce this partnership. This opens the door for any Startup Founder from anywhere in the world to build their dream and Startup Iceland can play a role in accelerating that process. So, what does this really mean? Startup Iceland is now part of the Stripe Atlas Network, which includes over seventy of the world’s top accelerators, investors, and partners dedicated to helping the most promising startups become global companies. The startups referred by Startup Iceland will have priority access to the private beta of Atlas, which enables entrepreneurs around the world to start an internet business.
Here is the complete list of members of the Stripe Atlas Network.
What is Stripe Atlas?
Stripe Atlas is a new product that’s designed to make it easy for developers and entrepreneurs from almost anywhere to start global internet businesses. In a few clicks, Atlas entrepreneurs get access
to:
- a U.S. company incorporated in Delaware; in particular, a C-Corporation, which is taxed separately from its owners and has no restrictions on ownership, a benefit for investors.
- a U.S. bank account at Silicon Valley Bank. (Stripe will also get entrepreneurs an Employer Identification Number (EIN) from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. government agency that collects taxes.)
- a live Stripe account to receive payments from anywhere in the world. Stripe currently supports processing in 25 countries, listed at http://www.stripe.com/global.
- access to other services needed to get started, including tax guidance from PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC), legal guidance from global law firm Orrick, and tools and resources from Amazon Web Services (as well as $15,000 in AWS promotional credits).
There’s more information about Atlas at stripe.com/atlas.
Note: While Stripe Atlas is initially offering incorporation in the U.S., they hope to expand the program and offer entrepreneurs the option of incorporating in a handful of other countries around the world over time (this is still beta :))
I will be referring Stripe Atlas to my portfolio companies and founders that I have been working with. If you follow Startup Iceland and would like to learn more please feel free to contact me.
