I am happy to announce the Kaidi Ruusalepp, the Founder and CEO of Funderbeam, will speak this year at Startup Iceland. Keeping with our theme of #FoundersAndFoundations, Kaidi fits it perfectly, she is a founder and is building one of the foundations for founders namely a capital market built on decentralization technology of Blockchain. Kaidi, is a pioneer, leader and doer. I am looking forward to meeting her and learning from her experience.
Kaidi is a former CEO of Nasdaq Tallinn Stock Exchange and of the Central Securities Depository. Co-Founder and Board Member of Estonian Service Industry Association. Ex Member of Startup Europe Advisory Board at European Commission. The first IT lawyer in Estonia, she is the co-author of the Estonian Digital Signatures Act of 2000 — landmark legislation that enables secure digital identities and, in turn, the country’s booming electronic economy. Entrepreneur of the Year, 2018, Technology Playmaker Awards (booking.com global award for women in tech). Person of a Year, 2016, nominated by Estonian ICT Association.
I am excited about this announcement for a number of reasons, the main one being Funderbeam is now operational in Iceland. It took a lot of effort and commitment from the Funderbeam team to make it happen. Through Funderbeam, founders from Iceland can tap into a global community of investors and move their vision and startup forward.
