Finished listening to Elon Musk: Tesla, SpaceX, and the Quest for a Fantastic Future. Fascinating journey of Elon Musk to date. It is amazing to see Elon execute on so many fronts with a long term plan on building a fantastic future. From Solar Energy to Electric Cars to Space Travel to solving the Energy Storage problem. The author of the book goes into the background, some of the controversies and also into the mind of probably one of the most interesting people of our generation. I think what Elon Musk has done is in par or to some extent beyond what Steve Jobs accomplished in his lifetime. The funny thing is he has done this in less than 2 decades. I am really excited to be living at a time when someone can dream, invent and possibly solve some of the biggest challenges we have in front of us a humanity.

I highly recommend the book to anyone in the quest for the fantastic future. Elon encapsulates all the quirky attributes of eccentric founders, but what is more important is the fact that he has taken challenges that many would say is impossible to solve and has solved them. I believe that is one pattern of a Founder that is so obvious. In addition to that I would really encourage anyone thinking about starting up to take on some of the challenges that can be an augmentation to the problems Elon has solved or is solving. There are so many opportunities. Yours truly has been writing about Food, Diet, Nutrition and Healthy living. I believe this is a fascinating field to build a startup on. I don’t think a lot of secrets about Food and our biology has been discovered. What fascinating things can be build using the new technologies to solve some of the disease that we have like say Diabetes, Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Cardiovascular Disease etc

Check out the Bloomberg Business’s Risk Takers series on Elon Musk gets a little deeper into the journey. A great augmentation to the book. One of my goal is to get Elon to come to Iceland for Startup Iceland, would that not be cool?
