I have been bootstrapping the blog and the Startup Iceland website. StartupIceland.com runs on GreenQloud, my favorite cloud platform, however the blog is hosted by WordPress.com. I have been able to hack and make this structure work, I think it is time I did a total revamp of the startupiceland.com website and the blog site. A number of you have given very helpful comments and suggestions on how to make the site better. I am going to get my hands dirty and start working on creating a clean structure that enables a seamless experience with the blog and startupiceland.com website.
Please let me know if any of you would like to work with me on this revamp. I am actually quite excited about getting this off the ground, as it has been high time that I spent some time on this.

I am guessing it shouldn’t be to difficult to implement an wordpress.org with the same webhost as for the the Startup Iceland website and then just buying a nice responsive wordpress theme for a few dollars. But i don’t know how easy it would be to transfer all the posts, I haven’t done that before.

Thanks Haukur. I am debating whether I go with WordPress.com and forgot about how the website is hosted or should I take on the challenge of managing it and maintaining it. I have to say I am more interested in a hassle free implementation that scales as the traffic expands and for this WordPress.com is by far the simplest solution but plugins do not work with WordPress.com so I am limited in what I can do with the site.
I would say – first think about what you are going to build up on this site and then worry about it being wordpress.com or wordpress.org on this and that hosting.
